Mandy’s Punjabi roots are expected to be the reason for her good hold over the native language. She moved to Mumbai in India and landed a role against Babbu Maan in the Punjabi feature film Ekam – Son of Soil, released in 2010. 

She has worked with many Punjabi singers and actors. Mandy got to play the lead Sahiba in the film Mirza – The Untold Story opposite Gippy Grewal. Then, in 2013, she did Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22, a comedy movie alongside Amrinder Gill and Honey Singh.

Apart from her contribution to Punjabi cinema, Mandy Takhar also appeared in South Indian movies. Her debut in Tamil cinema was with Venkat Prabhu’s Biriyani starring Karthi. She also appeared in the guest role of an Audi Car Lady in a Tamil movie, Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru, released in 2016.
